Due to icy roads, hazardous driving conditions, and forecasted temperatures expected to remain below freezing for tomorrow morning, Seminole Public Schools will cancel all classes and activities for Monday, January 22, 2024. We hope everyone stays safe and warm.

Seminole Public Schools will be monitoring the forecast for Monday, January 22nd. We will make a decision no later than 6:00 a.m. Monday whether we need to cancel classes or to have school as normal. If we can make a call sooner rather than later, we will do so. Safety on the bus routes and commutes, along with parking lots & sidewalks being free of snow and ice, and all of our utilities being operational are all part of the factors that help us determine the decisions as related to school cancellation. Our preference is to be in school, however not so if it means putting our students, parents, and school employees at risk. Stay safe, and warm. Have a great weekend -- indoors! Bob Gragg

On the afternoon of January 17, 2024, school officials were made aware of a written threat made by a student directed toward Seminole Middle School. Once aware of the threat, action was taken immediately. Law enforcement was immediately present. The student has been removed from the middle school premises. We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to fully investigate this threat. Working together, we are building a safer learning environment for our students.

Seminole School Parents, Students, and Community: Seminole Public Schools will resume classes tomorrow (Wednesday January 17, 2024) with our regular WEDNESDAY LATE-START SCHEDULE.  This means classes will not start until 8:45, and the late start will also coincide with the predicted warming of the temperatures tomorrow.  Highs are forecasted to be in the 40's by midday tomorrow.  It will be cold again first thing in the morning, and we will be very understanding if students are a few minutes late arriving.  Safety comes first for all students, families, and our school employees. For our bus riders, we are suggesting that parents keep your children inside where it is warm, until you see the bus approaching your stop, or until you hear the driver honk.  Our drivers have been instructed to honk and wait at least 3 minutes at each stop.  If your students catch their bus at home, they should wait inside their house.  If you drop them off at their bus stop, please have them wait in your vehicle until the bus arrives.  This also means that buses will likely be a few minutes later than normal on the morning routes tomorrow. Thank you.  We are looking forward to students being back in school and resuming our routine learning schedules, and the warming trend expected for the next few days. Respectfully, Dr. Bob Gragg,  Superintendent Seminole Public Schools

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a program through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) which provides discount internet service to qualifying members and families. Qualifying members and households can receive a $30 monthly discount towards their internet service costs. Also, tribal members and families in Oklahoma who qualify can receive $75 off their monthly internet bill. Members may also qualify for a one-time $100 rebate on the purchase of a new computer, tablet or laptop. The ACP was passed by Congress as part of the 2021 Infrastructure Bill.
